Short Term Missions: Essential Elements of Philosophy and Administration

Why short term missions?  Is it biblical? Is it just a time to “get teens on fire,” utilize the semi-retired, or “promote” missions as a life pursuit?  What theology should guide this overwhelmingly popular and diverse form of ministry in local churches?  How can it be done in a way that truly brings glory to the God of the gospel?
