Helping “Pastors Like Me”
April 2, 2010 – 7:54 amAlejandro Peluffo, M.Div. student at The Master’s Seminary in Sun Valley, CA, shared his journey from Argentina to the States for training in a recent seminary chapel.
Watch Alejandro’s story (7:30).
Below is an excerpt from the last 30 seconds of the video:
“Please let me challenge you. I think that there are a lot, a lot of pastors like me outside, around the world who are crying for help. ‘Please help.’ Trying to understand the Bible. And you can learn another language, like me. Like, ‘Tarzan-style.’ It’s okay. (laughs)
“But you can go and help people outside to be expositors. To call them to come back to the Bible, come back to the Bible. Thank you.”
It is healthy for us to hear this challenge to go train pastors from one who received this training as a foreigner and who plans to go back to his home country to train other men.
What is your church doing to help the Alejandro’s around the world? Your church might not have a seminary, and you might not be able to solely fund a foreigner’s training in America, but you can send your sons and daughters to go. You can pool your resources with other like-minded churches to train nationals, whether it be in America or, better still, in their home country.
Every church’s role is different, but we must obey our Lord and have an active role in the planting of God-centered churches that are making and maturing disciples of Jesus Christ.
