Blog from “Just a Kid”

November 10, 2008 – 10:45 am

It is easy for us to think of a little one as “just a kid” in relation to many aspects of life, including missions. Though small of stature and prone to do childish things (we all were/are!) children have an amazing capacity to develop compassion for others, if properly trained.

One example is Nick, who’s “just a kid” posting on his blog about his ministry trip to the Dominican Republic with Compassion International with his dad. Nick’s dad, the accomplished Christian blogger Tim Challies, has obviously encouraged him to develop a burden for other people.

How can you better encourage kids (whether they are your own children or not) to have a heart for the nations as God does? Be creative; be excited! Enthusiasm is contagious.  Be enthusiastic about the gospel and missions and help kids share in this enthusiasm!
