Congrats Given to President-Elect Obama from Around the World

November 5, 2008 – 12:55 pm

CNN article on the congratulations given to President-elect Barack Obama from around the world.

This election, just like every one before it, will have a profound impact on the world - economically, socio-politically, and morally. America’s relations with the world cannot but be impacted by its Commander in Chief and Chief Diplomat - the President (or POTUS - top security code word for the President). We must pray for our President, that God would give him wisdom and discernment and that God would open further doors of gospel ministry because of or in spite of Mr. Obama’s leadership.

A few articles/sermons highlighting our biblical responsibility toward our Head of State (and every elected official):

Grateful for (Almost) Any Government

Congratulations to President-elect Obama

Voting as a Child of God

A Christian Conscience in the Voting Booth (though this sermon specifically addresses voting, Pas. Doran lays out the biblical grounds for government and a Christian’s responsibility toward government)

America Has Chosen a President

President Obama

Now is Time to Pray for President Obama

Pray for New President
