Ramadan 2008

Muslim holy month of fasting…one week down

This past Monday and Tuesday, Muslim countries declared the beginning of the observance of Ramadan. The reason for the varied starting time is that the holy month begins at the first sighting of the crescent moon (which delineates the beginning of a lunar month) and different countries reported different sightings this year.

While millions of Muslim people observe this month of fasting and introspection, let us pray with vigilance that God will send laborers into the “crescent-dominated fields” to reap a harvest for His glory.

30 Days: Loving Muslims Thru Prayer is a helpful resource to guide us in our prayers for the Muslim world during this month. It highlights a country, and lists specific requests that we can bring before God’s throne in regards to gospel ministry in the region.
