What is the SGI National Conference?
August 29, 2008 – 10:51 amI am often asked to share about the ministry of Student Global Impact and its conference. SGI was born out of a desire to mobilize young adults for missions. Reading about the Student Volunteer Movement inspired us to believe that God could work in this current generation of young adults like in the generation of 120 years ago.
Eight years ago we launched SGI and we are very thankful for the opportunity to challenge thousands of young adults for the cause of the Great Commission. One of the most important aspects of SGI has been its national conference that we host every two years. Our last one was in January of this year.
Ali Owens wrote for Maranatha BBC’s Advantage magazine how the conference was a blessing to many. I think you will benefit from seeing the conference through the eyes of a college student. We look forward, Lord willing, to continue to mobilize young adults through the ministry of SGI.
